SASURAL GENDA PHOOL

Set in the beautiful alleys of Old Delhi, Sasural Genda Phool is a heart rendering story of two unlikely characters – Suhana and Ishaan. It is a love story of two strangers who fall in love after marriage.

Suhana is the lovely, spirited daughter of Kamal Kumar Bajpai. She hails from a palatial house with a plethora of servants to service her cravings. Told in a simple, conventional and populist narrative, this entertaining and apolitical story finds its resonance on a larger canvas and hence explores a fresh perspective of storytelling on Indian television. The reflections of the characters are not indicative or symbolic of any political movement yet.

Sarju and Radha. do become the faces of India more self assured than ever, less apologetic about their being than the older generation, at times aggressive and idealist… at times manipulative and conniving… at times tactless as well yet their charm is unarming when one witnesses their indomitable phoenix like spirit.

While these myriad characters weave the story of a more complex nature yet their simplicity makes the narrative appear simplistic and endearing.

The proposed show, primarily a story about the search of identity and the pain of displacement of rural India, also discovers, on its way, the more sublime issues of everyday life in a village be it water crisis, the agricultural patents, the electricity and health facilities, the status of women  in rural India, the issues of infertility, caste, feudalism, gender exploitation and yet retains the simplicity and charm of rural India so much so that one can’t help but fall in love with its characters.

About the show

This is a story of two childhood friends belonging to two different stratum of the society – one is a zamindar and the other a mere farmer. Their friendship was one that the entire village vouched for. Not only the two friends but their families also shared a very strong bond of love and affection between them.
But this friendship was not to last forever. Due to circumstantial misunderstandings the two friends’ part ways and the love between them turns into enmity. The only thing left common between them is a river that now flows between their separated villages and their hatred for each other in their hearts.
The lead protagonists of the show Yugandhar and Brinda are the grandchildren of these two friends. Yugandhar plays the grandson of the Zamindar friend and Brinda plays the granddaughter of the farmer friend. These two who are unaware of the hatred between their families become friends and in no time love blooms in their hearts.
Will the love of these two youngsters help in soothing the wounds inflicted in all these past years? Will love cross the borders and make a new beginning? What will happen when Brinda falls in love with the enemy?

Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai is an Indian television series that airs on STAR Plus channel. The series premiered on August 5, 2009, and is produced by known directors Sumit Mittal & Shashi Mittal.

Sajan Ghar Jana Hai revolves around the story of a simple and beautiful girl named Dhani; the only daughter of Sudha – a widow. Dhaani lives with her widow mother & makes bridal dolls as profession. One day a rich guy named Amber met Dhaani accidentally & fell in love with her in 1st sight. other side Amber’s dad was finding a suitable girl for him. Amber’s father got impressed by Dhaani’s boldness & unconditional favor so he asked wedding proposal from Dhaani’s mother for Amber who happily said yes to it. Unknown to all this wedding proposal matter Amber decides to forget his unknown ladylove for his family’s sake. At some festival, coz of a ritual Dhaani’s sister ask Amber to chose a chunri for his wife. Amber chose a chunri keeping Dhanni in his mind. Dhaani wore that same chunri which she got from her in-laws. At a fair, Amber noticed Dhaani wore his chosed chunri so he inquires about Dhaani from his sister. Amber is happily surprised on the fact that he is going to marry his ladylove. He teased Dhaani who thinks Amber as stranger & ignored him. She too gets happily surprised on knowing about Amber is her fiance. Both develops more feelings for each other. Amber helped Dhaani’s mother for wedding preparation. Both feels deeply love for each other. Both got married with the blessing of elders. But on the time of bidaai..one of the priest who hates Amber’s family disclosed Dhaani’s reality that she belongs to some lower caste n all. Amber’s dad refused o accept Dhaani. This made everyone shocked specially Amber & Dhaani’s side. Amber objects his father’s decision & decides to leave his family for Dhaani whom he thinks that she is not at any fault.Amber accepts Dhaani as his wife while his family left him alone with Dhaani & her mother by breaking all relations with Amber. Amber is sad but happy on the same time with his decision.Amber & Madhu are cousins while Sarla-Avinash are sibings. Amber is adopted so Amber’s dad & his aunt(Madhu’s mom) planned aco. to which they plot against Dhaani. Aunt & Amber’s dad convinced Avinash’s parents for Madhu-Avinash’s wedding after Sarla-Amber’s wedding. Avinash’s parents were first against to it as they knew about Amber-Dhaani’s wedding but later they became adamant & put the condition that Madhu-Avinash’s wedding will happen only after Amber-Sarla’s wedding. Amber denied to marry Sarla & decides to leave separately with Dhaani at Delhi. They secretly live for Delhi. Madhu on her wedding day gets devasted on knowing Avinash’s decision of Amber-Sarla wedding first…Madhu calls Amber but Dhaani replied her. Dhaani assumes something wrong with Madhu as Madhu wished her good wishes for future. Dhaani sacrificed her love & threatens Amber for suicide at railway track… Amber unwilingly & under Dhanni’s pressurize readied to marry Sarla. But he is not happy. He just tries to keep Sarla happy as being childish, Sarla ‘s parent threatens Amber to make Sarla happy otherwise his sisMadhu will get the same in return what he will give to their daughter Sarla. Still Amber goes to Dhaani as he couldn’t feel live without her but Dhaani gain threatens him that if he wouldn’t kept his promise then he would lose his Dhaani. That’s why Amber unwillingly living his life without any desire….He is just like a body without soul.With the condition of a goon Bhawani singh, Dhaani is forced to move Raghuvanshi family as Sakhi,the maid while saving Sarla from. Slowly Sarla & Dhaani shared a healthy bond of friendship. Dhaani helped Immature Sarla. Dhaani’s mother couldn’t tolerate this & reveal Dhaani-amber relation to Sarla. Sarla who is unknown to Sakhi’s reality runs away from Raghuvansh’s ancestral Worship(puja)in search of Dhaani to bring back her. Kalyani(Amber’s aunt) in fear of loss of family’s reputation & her daughter Madhu’s happiness… made Sakhi(Dhaani) to sit in ancestral puja with Amber. Priest blessed Dhani(assuming Sarla) that she will give heir to Raghuvanshi family). Amber all time felt Dhaani’s presence & While saving from Dhaani,Amber came to know about Sakhi’s reality. He became happy but Dhaani took promise him that they wont reveal truth to family & Sarla. Amber being reluctant agreed. Current storyline is Dhaani is still living as maid but happy with Amber & Sarla’s company. She has witnessed the bitter relationship of Gauri & Sumer(Amber’s bro).
